Description
The Black Bull One Ton Scissor Car Jack is ideal to have on hand for emergency roadside tire changes. One Ton Scissor Car Jack weighs only 6 pounds, so it is lightweight and easy to lift in and out of the trunk of the car. The cranking handle makes raising the jack easy when you position the jack under the load. With a lifting height of 3.5 to 12 inches, the Scissor Car Jack can stabilize or lift most cars, trucks, SUVs, trailers or RVs.
Item # SJ1To use a scissor car jack, follow these steps:
- Park Safely: Ensure your vehicle is on a flat, stable surface. Engage the parking brake and place wheel chocks behind the rear wheels to prevent rolling.
- Locate the Jack Points: Consult your vehicle’s manual to find the correct jack points. Typically, these are reinforced areas along the vehicle’s frame.
- Position the Jack: Place the scissor jack under the designated jack point. Ensure it’s aligned properly and securely touching the vehicle’s frame.
- Raise the Vehicle: Insert the handle into the jack’s socket and start turning it clockwise. This action will rotate the screw mechanism inside the scissor jack, causing the jack to expand and lift the vehicle. Keep turning until the tire is off the ground.
- Secure the Vehicle: If you’re changing a tire, remove the lug nuts with a wrench while the vehicle is lifted. Replace the tire with the spare, then hand-tighten the lug nuts onto the bolts.
- Lower the Vehicle: Turn the handle counterclockwise to slowly lower the vehicle back down to the ground. Ensure that the tire is firmly in place before fully removing the jack.
- Remove the Jack and Tools: Once the vehicle is securely on the ground, remove the scissor jack and any other tools from under the car. Store them properly.
- Check Your Work: Double-check that all lug nuts are tight and the vehicle is stable before driving.
Using a scissor jack effectively requires patience and attention to detail. Always ensure your safety by working on a level surface and following these steps carefully.
